Christmas at Birchgrove

Birchgrove's Christmas Experience

Following on from the success of the past few years, we have pulled out all of the stops to offer the best Santa Experience for miles around.

We have put together a short video above to give you an insight as to what you can expect to see during your visit, and here we will try and explain how and why you will love the whole experience.

Firstly, we want you to enjoy every moment as a family, so all adults accompanying your child do so for FREE. (We may have to limit the number of adults on the ride to one per child if we get too busy).

Once you have purchased your child's ticket at the main pay station in the garden shop, you will be invited to enter the walkway leading to the grotto. Upon entering the grotto, one of our helpers will welcome you, and show you to the table of gifts available for your child to choose the gift they would like to receive from Santa. Once chosen, you will be invited to our play area, where we have a number of colouring activities and games for your child to play while waiting for their turn to visit Santa, thus avoiding standing around in boring queues, a much easier life for the adults! We operate a number system, so when your number is called, it is your turn to enter our illusionary coach & horse ride on your journey to the castle and to Santas home. When your ride (approximately 3 minutes long) reaches it's destination, you will be met by characters from the Biz, Boston. Princesses and elves will entertain you during your short wait to visit Santa in his specially constructed front room. Santa is very relaxed. He will spend as long as required with your child, listening to their stories and finding out if they have been good and if they deserve any presents from him this year. At the end, Santa will present your child with their pre-chosen gift, and you will exit his house back into the play area, where you can finish your drawing or game for a while before exiting the grotto.  During the whole journey, there will be plenty of photo opportunities, and you are welcome to take as many photos as you like. The price for your experience is only £6.99 per child.

Our Grotto is open between 10:00 and 3:30 every weekend from 1st December and everyday from 20th December to Christmas eve.
