Duke Of York Potato. A pale yellow waxy boiler at first but matures quickly into a versatile general purpose potato. Famous for their great taste. Smaller potatoes can be used as waxy salad potatoes but as the season progresses and the tubers grow dry matter increases.
An improved ‘Duke of York’ discovered in 1942, many major supermarkets and retailers are now stocking this potato as the best of the best in the potato world.
Well worth a try, one of the few good First early reds.
